Dog Jog 5K and Family Fun Run will be the premiere dog-friendly 5K and Family Fun Run in the Rocket City. In its 3rd year the Dog Jog 5K and Family Fun Run will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Historic Huntsville Depot or the Dog Jog Depot, as we like to call it for the day! This event will be for the avid runner but also for the entire family and that includes furry four legged ones. Not only can you participate in the 5K Fun Run and visit with local vendors but you will support educational initiatives in the community and give back to local animal groups all in one day.

The walk is part of the Garden’s Fido’s After Five, so bring your own leashed dog or Huntsville Animal Services will be there with adoptable dogs that you can walk!

The first Church Street Wine Run benefiting the New Hope Children’s Clinic will be Sunday, October 8! Join us for a great event that provides something for everyone-adults running the race and family members coming to cheer them on!
When you walk in the Out of the Darkness Walks, you join the effort with hundreds of thousands of people to raise awareness and funds that allow the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss.
Thanks to Walkers and Donors like you, AFSP has been able to set a goal to reduce the annual suicide rate 20% by 2025.

Online registration closes at noon (local time) the Friday before the walk. However, anyone who would like to participate can register in person at the walk from the time check-in begins until the walk starts. Registration is free and open to the public. Walk donations are accepted until December 31st.
25th Annual Thanksgiving Day Hike (4 miles/Moderate)
Join us for a Thanksgiving Day tradition! Be prepared for your Thanksgiving feast by starting the morning off with a Monte Sano hike lead by Land Trust Board and Staff. We’ll start out at Bankhead and work our way down to Three Caves on the Alms Trail. Those who don’t want to make the walk back up will be shuttled to their cars.
